FDR Library, Museum Celebrates 75th Anniversary

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The FDR Library & Museum is commemorating its 75th anniversary with a series of public events Thursday, June 30 to Saturday, July 3.

The library will open a new special exhibition on Pearl Harbor entitled, "Day of Infamy: 24 Hours that Changed History," in the Library's vanden Heuvel Gallery (runs to Dec. 31).

Events and admission to the exhibition is free. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The following is scheduled:

Thursday:

  • 11 a.m. 75th Anniversary Ceremony (Remarks by Michael Beschloss)
  • Noon Pearl Harbor Exhibition Opens
  • 2 p.m. Panel Discussion: A History of the Roosevelt Library

Friday:

  • 3 p.m. Book Talk: William E. Leuchtenburg The American President: From Teddy Roosevelt to Bill Clinton
  • 7 p.m. Theatrical Performance: "In Their Own Words: The Roosevelts"

Saturday:

  • 10 a.m. Family Fun Festival on the Lawn (Circus, WWII Music, Food Trucks)
  • 4 p.m. Theatrical Performance: "In Their Own Words: The Roosevelts"
  • 7 p.m. Theatrical Performance: "In Their Own Words: The Roosevelts"
